Habersham County school system is comprised of 14 schools over 1,000 staff members and nearly 7,000 students and we are supported by a strong community and by parents who value the education of their children. Together we are one team with one mission success for all students. With this mission serving as the school systems guiding light the Habersham team has capitalized on its strength and has increased the expectations of what's possible for its students. So how much has the school system accomplished in recent years? In 2017 Habersham Central High School had a record graduation rate of 94.9% that was more than 14 points above the state average and it was the school system's best year ever for student attendance with the rate of 95.5%. On the state Milestones assessments Habersham County ranked among the top 10 most improved school systems in Georgia. Their College and Career Readiness score also exceeded the state average by more than five points. Three of their schools were named award schools by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement scoring in the 93rd percentile for greatest gains in the statewide accountability system. To further a commitment to college readiness the Habersham County Board of Education approved the prestigious AP Capstone program to bolster an already successful AP placement program and provide students with more opportunities when applying to colleges. All of these accomplishments are complemented by exceptional programs in the areas of Fine Arts, Athletics, and Agriculture Education. The school system has also made great strides in the area of Technology. They're currently upgrading the network in all schools and are pursuing a one-to-one Chromebook initiative for all students. As you can see we have much to be proud of!
