In an effort to create authentic experiences for students, students at NHSGA are going to be exposed to The Big 6 Research Process as a way to infuse information-literacy skills into the curriculum. Activities utilizing information-literacy skills are varied, from creating pamphlets on exercising in health classes, to researching and recommending vacation trips in social studies classes. During our last nine weeks, students will have the opportunity to use The Big Six Research Process in order to better prepare our students academically. The Big Six Research Process is a nationally recognized process to teach information skills. The six steps describe the thinking steps a person goes through any time there is an information problem to solve. In the following weeks, we will explore together each process thoroughly step by step. Students from Mrs. Wright's reading class are pictured working on gathering research from book sources.
