Habersham County School System is pleased to announce that Baldwin Elementary, Cornelia Elementary, Demorest Elementary and Level Grove Elementary may be granted six state pre-school classes. We currently have four classrooms: one at Baldwin Elementary, two at Cornelia Elementary and one at Level Grove. We have applied for an additional class at Level Grove and a new class at Demorest Elementary. Each class will have twenty (20) students, a teacher and a paraprofessional. Students must be four (4) years old on or before September 1, 2008 to be eligible for the class.
A one-day registration will be held at the Habersham County Schools Central Office in Clarkesville on Thursday, May 15, 2008, from 12:30 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Students will be chosen by a lottery drawing. Registration does not guarantee your child will be placed in a class. Parents will be notified by letter if their child’s name is drawn in the lottery. Children’s names not drawn will be placed on a waiting list along with any registrations received after the 6:00 P.M. deadline.
In order to register you must:
1. Complete a registration form for the school district in which you reside
Registration forms are available at the elementary schools or on the Habersham County Schools website at www.habershamschools.com
2. Submit the child’s valid birth certificate containing the seal, file number and signature of the registrar
3. Submit proof of 911 address (example: power bill)
Failure to submit the registration form, valid birth certificate or proof of 911 at the time of registration will exclude your child from the lottery drawing.

El Sistema Escolar del condado de Habersham está satisfecho anunciar que las escuelas Baldwin Elementary, Cornelia Elementary, Demorest Elementary y Level Grove Elementary pueden ser concedidos tres clases preescolares estatales. Tenemos actualmente cuatro clases:
una en Baldwin Primary, dos en Cornelia Elementary y una en Level Grove Elementary. Hemos aplicado por una clase adicional en Level Grove y una clase nueva en Demorest Elementary. Cada clase tendrá veinte (20) estudiantes, una profesora y una asistente profesional (parapro). Los estudiantes deben de tener cuatro (4) años de edad el día, o antes, del 1ro de septiembre de 2008 para ser elegibles para la clase.
Un día de matrícula será en La Oficina Central del Condado en Clarkesville el jueves, el 15 de mayo, 2008, a las 12:30 P.M. hasta las 6:00 P.M. Se escogerán a los estudiantes usando la lotería. La solicitud no garantiza que colocarán a su niño en una clase. Se notificarán a los padres por correo si el nombre de su hijo fue escogido en la lotería. Los nombres de niños que no son escogidos van a estar en una lista de esperar con otros inscripciones recibidos después de las 6:00 P.M.
Para matricular a su hijo usted debe:
1. Rellenar el formulario de inscripción en el distrito escolar en que usted reside
(Los formularios son disponibles en las escuelas primarias o en www.habershamschools.com)
2. Presentar el Acta de Nacimiento válido de su hijo, la cual contiene el sello, el número del expediente y la firma del registrador (secretario del registro civil).
3. Presentar comprobación de su dirección (por ejemplo: el recibo de la luz)
La falta de presentar el formulario de inscripción, el acta de nacimiento, o comprobación de su dirección en el momento de la inscripción se excluye a su hijo de la lotería.
