A Message from the SuperintendentI want to take this time to thank all of you who so graciously spent part of your afternoon yesterday visiting with me at the reception given by the Board of Education. It was fun visiting with current educators and educators from my past as well as family and other friends who are so special. All in all, it was certainly one of the best days of my life.
I will still be here for several more weeks, but I want to take this opportunity to tell you all that I have enjoyed working with you and being part of this family of educators. Like all families, we have had our ups and downs, but blood does run deeper than water, and we do have a common purpose that permeates everything we do. I have been blessed to work in a community where teachers work with the community to achieve the best results for our children and where people genuinely care and take pride in the work of the schools. I pledged five years ago to work hard as superintendent to make our system a better place and to eventually leave it in better condition than when I took the job. TOGETHER we have worked hard to do just that. As always, there is much work to be done, and great challenges will always be ahead. I will be watching as a citizen and as a grandmother of 1, soon to be 2, and then 3 special children who represent our future. I am entrusting them to you. I have faith that they will successfully complete their work in our schools with tools under their belts for life. I wish you success and leave with you my love.
Welcome
