EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR GIFTED STUDENTS

UGA TIP Scholar Weekends provide opportunities for academically talented students in grades 8-11 to take short courses during weekend-long programs at the University of Georgia.  Courses provide enrichment, sharpen skills, and help students define pathways to college majors and careers.

Gifted Referrals

February is Gifted Referral Month for Habersham County Schools.  Eligibility for the gifted program is based on State Board of Education Rule 160-4-2-.38.  This rule along with the gifted referral forms may be viewed below. Any parent or other interested person who wishes to make a referral for an elementary school child should contact the following Discovery teachers at Demorest Elementary School at 706-778-4126 or by email.

Referrals for students in grades 6-12 should be made to  the gifted program teachers at the school that the student attends.  The school office can help in contacting these teachers.  For more information, please call Martha Cantrell at 706 778-7161.
