End of DES Learn From Home Plan
Demorest Elementary
Posted On: Friday, May 08, 2020

Here is information about how we will finish this school year and collect student work and materials from our Learn from Home plan.

This is not the way any of us envisioned this year ending, and we sincerely appreciate the positive attitudes our students and families demonstrated during this time of learning from home. Students’ work should be completed by May 13th. Teachers will continue making contact and offering support to students through May 22nd, our official last day of school.

Here is the plan for turning in the learn from home materials:  ALL materials:  completed packets of work, text books, and library books must be returned to Demorest Elementary. The drop off dates and times are:

Kindergarten and 1st grade:  May 13

2nd and 3rd Grade:  May 14

4th and 5th Grade:  May 15

Pre-k students do not have to return work packets.

Drop off times will be 11:30-12:30  and 4:00-5:00 on the scheduled days.   Parents with multiple children should drop off materials on the date/time scheduled for their oldest child.

Yearbooks and class pictures that were paid for in advance will be given out when materials are dropped off.

Please enter the driveway at the school’s main entrance.  Display your child’s Parent Pick up Tag or a piece of paper with your child’s name written in large letters.   Parents should follow social distancing guidelines when placing items in clearly labeled boxes at the drop of area.   Students in grades 3-5 who submitted their work in Google Classroom will not have to turn in paper copies, but they must return textbooks and library books.

Teachers will not return to the school building this year.  A date will be determined in the future to allow for  students’ personal items to be picked up.

Please take care and be well!
